Workshop Goals

This workshop is the perfect hands-on introduction to the incredible power of editing images with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. These two products do it all. You will be immersed in a professional workflow that will have your images cataloged and organized. The images will be edited to their full potential and ready to publish to print or screen.

Time Dedication

The workshop will run on 4 Wednesdays for a 2 hour session each night. This schedule is aimed for those of you with full-time jobs, families, etc. The amount of time you dedicate outside of class is really up to you. You will certainly leave the workshop with the knowledge you need to begin a professional image editing workflow. The more you practice on your own the better you will become of course.

If you are a serious photographer at any level, pro, enthusiast or hobbyist, you need a coherent image processing and organizing workflow. Adobe’s Photography Plan is all of that and more.

The Lightroom – Photoshop workflow begins with the comprehensive portfolio organization tools and process in Lightroom. This class will cover:

  • Organizing your archive
  • JPG vs RAW workflow differences
  • Keywords
  • Ratings
  • Groupings

  • Exports for screen, print, web and presentation

Lightroom and Photoshop’s first, and most important editing tool is Adobe Camera Raw (Develop Module in Lr):

  • Non-destructive image editing
  • Tone adjustments
  • Color adjustments
  • Targeted area adjustments
  • Lens corrections and more

Photoshop continues the more detailed and comprehensive image edits with:

  • Masks and Selections
  • Smart Objects and Layers
  • Master Sharpening workflow
  • Text
  • Composite images for other use
